Uses and Properties:
Zinc oxide Pharmaceutical grade is a physical sun blocking agent that work primarily by reflecting/scattering ultraviolet light.
It has a broad range of effectiveness, covering UVB and UVA rays.
It is stable in sunlight and can provide greater protection from UVA rays than titanium oxide or any other sunscreen chemical. Titanium dioxide and regular zinc oxide only blocks visible light wavelengths at 600 nm, whereas Zinc Oxide UV BP-1 and Zinc Oxide UV BP-2 block not at 600nm but also down to 380 – 400 nm, depending on the specific formulation.
